Upcoming Convention Schedule

Greetings, loyal readers.  Now that Further Confusion is out of the way, I can concentrate on my comics and my next conventions.

At this time, my next convention will not be until the spring, namely April 15-17, 2011.  During that time, I will be a guest speaker on the anthro track of I-Con, the Northeastern USA’s largest science fiction convention.  Besides panels, I’ll be networking and promoting myself as usual.  Some of you may remember me from my attention-getting panel with Egypt Urnash about robots, cyborgs, and AI.  Well, I definitely have bigger plans for this year’s event.  Speaking of April, an old friend is having a birthday on April 28th – I gotta prepare something for him.

From there on, my next appearance will be Rocket City Furmeet in Huntsville, Alabama on Memorial Day weekend.  This will be the first time in 16 years that I’ve been south of the Mason-Dixon Line.  Damn, that makes me feel old.  In spite of the fact that their dealer room setup is similar to Furfright (both use a central cashier to collect sales tax, eliminating the need to register as a business in that state), I’m not ready yet to sell any of my work in a dealer room.  I will however be displaying in the art show.  Bouncing back from my less than stellar performance at FC, I already have been working on some good ideas for my next art show.

Speaking of art shows, I will be attending Anthrocon this year.  I plan to display in the art show and I will be rooming with the fabulous Steven Martin again.  I’ll have to see about doing a panel as well.  My biggest hopes are for this year’s Furfright, set for October in Cromwell, CT.  There will be a dealer room table with my name on it and I will be selling Sunnyville comics and merchandise there.  By then, I will have more comics.

I’m on the fence right now about attending the Small Press Expo in Maryland or going back to Further Confusion in 2012.

For now, I have to go back to school.  I start a perspective class soon and need more life drawing as I’m still not just ready yet to work independently as a professional artist.  Plus I’ll be starting work on Sunnyville Stories episode 4 this weekend.  Wish me luck everyone.

Have comments or questions?  Please share them here with me.  Also don’t forget that you can still buy your copy of Sunnyville Stories #2 from Indy Planet and I have some excellent prints for sale.  There are two recent pieces added to the store such as this adorable print titled If You Won’t Kiss Me and this Expressionist piece called The Train Robbers. Subscribe to the RSS feed or via email if you haven’t done that yet.  I’ll be seeing you again soon, Sunnyville fans.
