Pending Convention Schedule for 2012

Welcome!  This is more of a personal entry.  Just as a reminder, I will be at the Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival tomorrow.  I’ll be making rounds there to meet people and to network.  In fact, tomorrow’s blog post (a video log) will be late.  It won’t be up until afternoon or evening since I’ll be recording it live at the event.

Anyway, here’s my pending convention schedule for the year 2012.  Only one of these conventions is one that I will be going to.

Anthrocon, June 14-17, 2012 – Pittsburgh, PA (CONFIRMED)

Granitecon, May 2012 – New Hampshire (PENDING)

Another Anime Con, October 2012 – New Hampshire (PENDING)

Boston Comic Con, April 21-22, 2012 – Boston, MA (PENDING)

Boston SuperMegaFest, Nov. 2012 – Boston, MA (PENDING)

Anime Boston, April 6-8, 2012 – Boston, MA (PENDING)

I know what a lot of you are thinking.  What is up with those Boston shows?  As some of you might know, I’m considering moving to New Hampshire.  As tax-friendly as teh state is, it has only one or two comic book shows each year.  However, the big cities of NH (Concord, Nashua, and Manchester) are a hop, skip, and jump away from the metropolis known as Boston, Massachusetts.  There are at least three big shows there and conventions are necessary for me to get my name out as well as selling my work.

This is somewhat ironic.  I want to leave New York, my home state, because it is so expensive and because of high taxes.  Partaking in comic book shows over in MA means having to register with said state to collect sales taxes.

I reiterate – this schedule is pending AND IS NOT FINAL!  As I plot my next move, work on my business plan, and take account of resources, I’ll have a better idea as the year of 2012 comes in of where I stand.  Stay tuned for more details.
