The year 2012 in review

This is more of a personal entry.  This year has been a mixed bag for me.  I didn’t produce as many comics this year as I had wanted to.  I only turned out one new episode of Sunnyville Stories.

That was episode 6.  Oh, before I go on, Sunnyville Stories episode 6 is now for sale over on Indy Planet so make sure you go get a copy of it today.

I also put out my very first trade paperback, Sunnyville Stories Volume 1.  That also is available on Indy Planet.  While I’m proud of myself, sales of the book have been slow.  I’ve been working to retool the book with a higher price tag AND a few cosmetic changes.  Whatever I learn from the making and selling of this book, I plan to use in Sunnyville Stories Volume 2 and my graphic novel, Von Herling Vampire Hunter.

I didn’t get much time for comics however.  You may recall I did much travelling in order to find a place to live and work.  I contemplated Texas and New Hampshire before settling on North Carolina.  Plus on top of all that, I had to learn about graphic design and the business end of comics.

The good side is that I have the will to continue and plans for many more comics, both Sunnyville Stories and other works.  That will be part of the big adventure that will be my life.

As the pulp writer L. Ron Hubbard once said, “Adventuring is like art.  You have to live it to make it real.”
