Once Sunnyville Stories #13 is done, I will move onto Sunnyville Stories #14…and this one will be a doozy.
Sunnyville #14 will be free to read and will be serialized on my DeviantArt. The story will be titled “Epidemic Proportions” and deals with Rusty getting sick with chicken pox.
This story will feature not one, but TWO special guests. The first guest will be Cerebus the Aardvark, Dave Sim’s legendary creation, who already cameoed back in Sunnyville #10. I’ll be contacting Sim to let him know, but he’s quite open to others using his character in other comics. The second guest star will be Little Nemo, created by Winsor McCay and star of the appropriately named “Little Nemo in Slumberland”, a stunning newspaper comic strip that ran from 1905 to 1926. Under applicable copyright laws, Little Nemo is in the public domain so I don’t need to get anyone’s permission to use the character.
I also intend to recreate some elements from Little Nemo’s adventures and that will require much work. So stay tuned. There’ll be a lot of fun in store for you Sunnyville readers.
