Announcements for July 2, 2016

Hello, Sunnyville fans.  I have some announcements to make.

First, I’m still recovering from the burnout that I’m suffering after that big batch of comics work I did – the Sunnyville Stories annual, Ingmar #1, Sunnyville #14 and the DriveThru Comics adaptation of Von Herling.  All that, combined with CoreCon, just overwhelmed me.  Never again will I bite off more than I can chew.

I haven’t drawn much except for practice.  At this time, I’m working on various control exercises with the ink pen and some other drawing practice.  As I resolved, I do intend to just work on basic drawing skills for now.  In regards to Sunnyville, while my head is full of ideas, I’ve just run out of steam to draw or write new material.  Perhaps taking this break is a good thing; I don’t need to suffer a creator breakdown.

My next announcement is that over the coming months, I will post the completed pages of Sunnyville Stories #13 and #14 up here on the blog.  While they are already up on DeviantArt, I also intend to put them up here and I have a specific reason for doing so.  (More on that in a moment.)

Another plan I’m putting into action is to set up an official mailing list.  In the coming days, I will set one up via MailChimp.  This is intended to promote myself, promote Sunnyville and also to work in synergy with the blog and social media.  I aim to have that up hopefully by next week; stay tuned to this blog for more details!

My big announcement is this – I will be launching another Kickstarter drive!  This will not be until January that this launches however; I need time to plan and time to prepare.  As some of you may have deduced from some of the previous blog posts, this is something I have been wanting to do for awhile now.  If you’re wondering why I haven’t done this any sooner, it’s for a variety of reasons.  In fact, tomorrow’s blog post will be an overview of the audit I conducted where my first Kickstarter effort gets analyzed to understand what I did wrong.  I want to be sure this time that I do NOT make the same mistakes.

As for the exact content, I’ll have more details on that in August along with my plans.  Much planning and preparation must be done if that’s to even have a chance of success.

Stay tuned to this blog, loyal fans.  I will have much to share over this weekend.
