Notes for Saturday, September 10, 2016

As this blog post goes live, I owe my readers, fans and everyone else out there an apology.  I’m sorry I did not update the blog this week with more comics pages.  To make up for this, there will be two updates this week with more pages of Sunnyville #13.

Anyway, I’ve been up to a lot recently.  I’m working on my drawing.  Using that book I reviewed recently, I’ve been practicing drawing with a pen.  Besides sneaking in practice here and there, I have another life drawing session coming up.

Most importantly, I’m working on scripts for Sunnyville and other comics.  As this post goes live, the progress is slow.  I’m halfway through the script for Sunnyville #15.  I only have a page or two of Sunnyville #20’s script typed and somewhere in my studio is the handwritten story treatment for Sunnyville #16.  The sixteenth and twentieth stories are challenges for me to write as they are emotional stories – someone dies in the former and the latter story sees Rusty and Sam’s friendship get put to the test.  These next stories I’m doing are ones I need to make very good quality.  If I’m to retain fans and attract attention, I need to challenge myself when writing the conflicts that fuel the Sunnyville universe.  I hope to have more news as it develops as well as some script excerpts in the coming weeks.

Coming up are two conventions here in the Fargo area – AnimeFargo (September 23-25) and ValleyCon (October 14-16).  I will not be selling at AnimeFargo as I lost the raffle to get into the artist alley but will still attend the event.  I will be selling Sunnyville comics at ValleyCon though; we’ll keep you posted as that draws near.

On top of that, the draft plan for my next Kickstarter is still being assembled.  I hope to share more news on that in the near future.

That’s it for today.  Sign up for theSunnyville Stories mailing list if you haven’t yet.  Stop over to DriveThru Comics for digital copies of Sunnyville Stories.  Copies of Sunnyville Stories Volume 1 are still for sale on Amazon, both in print and Kindle formats!  While you’re there, be sure to pick up Sunnyville Stories Volume 2 and (if you love Gothic horror) Von Herling, Vampire Hunter!  And now available is the latest installment of the saga, Sunnyville Stories Volume 3.  Get them today!
