Hello, Sunnyville fans. I told you there’d be another blog update today.
First, we’ll talk about Sunnyville #16. The thumbnails went through a few revisions. I had to trim some fat and consolidate more of the story. My early estimates of the story placed it at about 30 pages. Now the final page count will be 29 pages. That will make Sunnyville #16 the shortest individual Sunnyville comic I’ve done so far.
In contrast to the more conflict and plot drive stories, this one is more dramatic. As you remember, it deals with someone’s death.
Those of you reading the mailing list already know who dies in Sunnyville #16. It’s Mr. Jakes, the town’s resident fixer. That’s one of the reasons it was hard to write the script and draw the story. I am killing one of my characters. But it wasn’t just that – I had to show the close knit townspeople dealing with the death of their friend. That was not easy either.
In the coming weeks, I hope to share some of the artwork on the story. But enough about that – now onto the Kickstarter.
As the days wind down to the Sunnyville Volume 4 Kickstarter, I’ll mark them off in order to keep a running count!
As of today, we have 54 days left. Stay tuned to the blog and the Sunnyville Facebook page for more news on that.
Please sign up for the Sunnyville Stories mailing list if you haven’t yet. Buy me a Ko-Fi today and check out my other creation Tiffany & Corey.
