We are now in the final phase of the campaign. We have 10 days remaining to reach 100% or higher. At the time of this writing, we sit at 62% funding and I aim to get that number higher.
It has not been easy and I’ve had doubts. As I type this blog post, my state of mind is different from what it was this morning. I had to make a choice between doing what is easy and doing what is right. That was covered in my most recent Kickstarter update so go read that.
But I learned something else during my Kickstarter for Dominic & Claire Circus and it was something that Tyler James Vogel taught me.
I am a leader.
Some of you may not believe that or even refuse to believe it. But I am a leader.
All of you out there who’ve been reading this blog, reading my comics, buying my merchandise and backing my Kickstarters…you are my followers.
I can’t just throw in the towel. A leader does not give up at the first sign of trouble or whenever there’s difficulty. If I did that, my followers and everyone else would realize that I’m not a leader. But I am one. And that’s why I can’t just quit.
I’d be letting myself down.
I’d be letting my backers, my fans and my supporters down.
I’d be letting Tyler down.
I’d be letting Dominic and Claire down.
I can’t do that. I’m a leader and everyone out there is counting on me.
