Hello, friends! I just have a few more pieces of concept art to share with you this week. I’m over in Huntsville, Alabama and I’m having a blast at Rocket City Furmeet so I can’t chat for long.
This is a second color study for Rusty. The other color scheme has him in a red shirt. I gave him another one in blue. Those of you versed in color theory (I’m only starting to learn it) will know that blue is one of the three primary colors, along with red and yellow. In fact, one of the things I’ve learned is that superheroes tend to have costumes in red, yellow, and blue. Look at Superman, Captain America, Spider Man, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Iron Man, etc. So I decided to apply that to Rusty here. I think it works well. Again, this is made for the reference of both myself and Steven Martin, who will be doing the cover for the fifth episode of Sunnyville.
This is another sample from my sketchbook. This will be Sam’s outfit for the local dance. It’s nothing special and to be honest, it hadn’t changed much. I just wanted to give Sam a very basic, yet pretty dress for the local dance.
Some of you may recall Sam wearing this in the concept painting I did long ago.
I don’t have much else to share with you this week. Rest assured, there will be a full report complete with photos when I return from Alabama so stay tuned for the next blog post. There’ll be a boatload of goodies and photos for you then. So be sure to check back next time.
And on that note, I’ll end this blog post with a neat little video. This is a teaser for the fifth episode of Sunnyville Stories, which I plan to have finished by the start of fall. Until next time, friends!
