Today, August 1st, is a very special day. Do you know this day is special?
It was approximately one year ago today that this blog officially launched!
On August 1st, 2010, the official blog to promote my work, Sunnyville Stories, officially went online. I remember the very first post going up.
Sunnyville Stories was born in 2009. I did a minicomic as a final project for a class I took. This cover here was the second version I did of it. From there, the characters of Rusty and Sam turned into the full-fledged universe of Sunnyville.
Ironically, your humble artist, Max West, had no central base of operations. It was during a marketing class that I was told that I should start up a self-hosted blog. And the rest is history.
Since this blog launched, it has received over 30,000 visits and over 38,000 pageviews! Not bad at all…especially for a blog in its first year.
Doing a blog is NOT easy. It takes discipline and effort. In fact, there are some out there to just gave up after trying to do a few blog entries.
Here’s to a great first year. And may the next few years be fruitful for me, Max West, and for the blog of Sunnyville Stories!
