Report on 24 Hour Comic Day 2016

October 1st, 2016 has come and gone; that was 24 Hour Comics Day.  I undertook the 24 Hour Comic Challenge again as I reported yesterday.  And all of you are probably wondering what happened.

I did it!  For the second time, I created a 24 page comic within 24 hours.  I finished the final page and signed at approximately 10:44 AM Central time this morning on Sunday, October 2nd.

Finishing 24 hour comics

I snapped this photo after signing the page with my watch as proof of the time – that’s atomic timekeeping on my Casio so it’s dead accurate.  Oh, yes…I have some other photos of work as I drew it.

24 hour comics character creation

It was quite an experience.  It was fun to do the Von Herling story as I’ve been itching to draw an adventure with the character again.  Plus having to improvise a script and character designs improved my skills; thinking on your feet is a handy skill to have when you’re creating comics.

As for that Von Herling story, it’s still being posted on my DeviantArt and should be completely up in the next few days.  I should warn you though that there is blood and profanity; read it at your own risk.

This is twice now that I went the distance and won by completing the 24 hour comics challenge.  I don’t know if I’ll do it again next year, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
