Just a reminder – if you haven’t yet, make sure you pledge to the Sunnyville Volume 4 Kickstarter and tell others about it.
Anyway, work continues on Sunnyville #16 and we’re making good progress on it.
Here, I’m getting ready to apply a big area of black India ink with a size 5 round brush.
The India ink here doesn’t give as rich of a black color as the acrylic ink I had before. But still, it gets the job done.
The scenes being drawn now are the memorial being held for Mr. Jakes. Like much of the story, it has taken an emotional toll on me.
Here, we have Mrs. Brown. She mentions how she got Roger and Mr. Jakes to make up after a big fight. This happened way back in Sunnyville #4.
Mrs. Brown, like many in Sunnyville, are taking the death of Mr. Jakes hard. Indeed, Mr. Jakes was someone that everyone cared about. That’s one of the characteristics of Sunnyville. It’s a small town where everyone knows each other. When someone leaves or someone dies, it affects everyone.
That’s it for now. I’ll have more updates on both the comics and Kickstarter soon.
