Volume 1 Report and Texas

Today’s entry is more of a personal one. This week will probably be the most important one for both myself and for Sunnyville Stories. Allow me to elaborate.

First and foremost, I am working on Sunnyville Stories volume 1, my planned trade paperback. I have had to suspend work on episode 6 in the meantime, but it’s for the best. I need to produce something of good quality so full attention must go to the trade paperback.

The photo you see here are the page layouts I’ve developed for the book. The good news is that most of the work has already been done for me. How so? I’ve simply made copies of the master files for episode 2 and episode 3 of Sunnyville and have transferred them into the volume 1 master file. They still need to be touched up a bit. However, as for the first episode, the pages I made will have to be scanned again and high quality computer files will have to be created.

Acrylic Ink Drawing in Progress

In addition, I’ve been developing some original art to go inside the book. The photograph you see above may have something that looks familiar…that’s because it’s the drawing I was doing in a previous blog post! Currently, all I have of the book are a few pieces of unfinished art, episodes 2 and 3, and a few text pages. I’d say the book is about sixty percent completed.

The other item I should mention is that as of tomorrow, I’ll be heading down to the Lone Star State. My destination will be Austin, capital of the state of Texas. I plan to check that place out, primarily as a place to live and work. Texas is a populous state and has no personal income tax. Plus it’s been cited as a very business friendly state. My primary areas of interest are the local chamber of commerce and a comics shop. There’ll be a full post on my trip when I return on Wednesday.
