The Choice Is Made!

This is a personal entry. As some of you may know, I’ve been wanting to relocate to another place to work on my small press comics, Sunnyville Stories. I’ve been wanting a place that’s more business friendly, more tax friendly, affordable, and has sufficient resources and services for my small press comics enterprise. What place is it that I’ve chosen?

I have chosen the city of Manchester in the state of New Hampshire. Believe me, this was not an easy decision to make. I spent at least a good couple of days wracking at my brain to decide where I wanted to go. I did scout out New Hampshire (both Concord and Manchester) as well as Austin, Texas.

Both states were beautiful and had many good points about them, many of which were conducive for me to create Sunnyville Stories comics and trade paperbacks. In the end, the deciding factor became less paperwork (New Hampshire does not have a personal income tax AND does not have a state sales tax) and more personal freedom. New Hampshire was actually rated the most free state in the whole United States in a recent study by the Mercatus Center of George Mason University.

Much will have to be done. I will have to devise an exit strategy concerning my affairs here in New York (which if you noticed in the aforementioned link, ranked at the least free state in the country!) as well as revise my business plan and work on a contact network up in the Granite State.

Wish me luck, everyone! Here’s to the Granite State and the hopes that it presents the best location for me to develop my small press comics series, Sunnyville Stories.
