Picking up from where we left off yesterday, Rusty gets dragged along to the Macgregor house. Let’s take a look at what’s happening there.
Rusty said nothing as he watched his mom and Sam’s mom set things up. Nancy had just set up a card table and she went quickly back into the kitchen.
“I have the spinach dip ready, Nancy,” replied Crystal
(Sam’s mom).
Nearby in the living room, Samantha Macgregor sat by with her little brother Jason. They were chatting with each other. Rusty watched as his mom brought snacks. In addition to the spinach dip, she brought out pita chips and tortilla chips.
“Those look good, Mom,” Rusty said.
“Hands off, Rusty!” she snarled, “Those are for my bridge club. You don’t play bridge.”
“Sure I do, Mom. I practically invented the game,” Rusty bragged.
Sam spun her head around to see what Rusty would say. Nancy struck a skeptical pose.
“Oh? Then tell me this, Rusty,” Nancy asked, “What would you do if you held the queen alone?”
Rusty thought for a minute.
“Well, mom, that would depend.”
“On what?”
“On what time the king was expected back.”
Sam burst out laughing.
Nancy shook her head.
“Rusty, get out of here! I’m not here to be insulted!”
“Oh, where do you usually go?” Rusty asked.
Nancy looked about ready to murder her son.
That’s all for now. To be honest, this script is not yet finished (at the time of this writing) and it still needs more revision. I’m planning to introduce another family in Sunnyville #13 – but that will have to wait. The script for Sunnyville Stories #12 still needs another pass for revision and editing. Stay tuned to this blog for more!
