Making the paper and making comics

I’ve got some announcements today.

First and foremost, in addition to getting mentioned on Alpha Manga and Root Beer Party, we also made the local newspaper, the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead!  The online article appeared on November 7; the print article should be appearing this Monday on November 9.

Second, I’ve gotten word that one of my vendors, a mail order company, will be opening up a brick-and-mortar around January.  In addition to stocking the Sunnyville (and Von Herling) titles, I’m going to see about providing them with promotional materials like artwork, flyers, posters and so on.  We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.

Most importantly, work has resumed on Sunnyville Stories #13.

Sunnyville #13 page drying on drawing desk

It’s slow but steady.

Rusty and friends as RPG adventurers

I’m particularly pleased with this page; the lines are still drying right now.  Anyway, what’s happening here is that Rusty, Sam, Jason and little Donny Hopper are playing a tabletop fantasy game.  Rusty is the party’s robber, Jason is the party’s muscle (as a axe-wielding, fur-clad barbarian), Sam is the cleric and little Donny is the party’s wizard.

This game will be the main source of conflict for our story, but we’ll get to that later.  That’s all for now.

Copies of Sunnyville Stories Volume 1 are still for sale on Amazon, both in print and Kindle formats!  While you’re there, be sure to pick up Sunnyville Stories Volume 2 and (if you love Gothic horror) Von Herling, Vampire Hunter!

Copies of all the above titles are available to the library trade via Brodart Company and to retailers from Ingram and Baker & Taylor (via BCH Distribution).  Copies are also available direct from the publisher.  For ordering information, contact maxwestart(at)gmail(dot)com or write to:
