Free Comic Book Day 2016

Today, May 7, is Free Comic Book Day!  For the uninitiated, Free Comic Book Day is an annual event here in the United States (as well as Canada and around the world) designed to promote awareness and readership of the comic book, be it the single story pamphlet, the trade paperback collecting many stories or the full-length graphic novel.

A number of comic book retailers will be participating and will have free comics you can get when you go into their shops.  These comics will be from big publishers like DC and Marvel as well as smaller companies like Fantagraphics.

Different Mousetrap Press LLC, the publisher of Sunnyville Stories, is taking part in Free Comic Book Day too.  But here’s the good part – you don’t have to run down to your local comics shop to get these free comics (or drive there or take the bus or so on).

They are right here on the Internet!!  Available FREE for Free Comic Book Day 2016 are the following:

  • Sunnyville Stories #1, which is hosted free on this blog and on my DeviantArt
  • Sunnyville Stories #13, also hosted on my DeviantArt
  • Sunnyville Stories #14, on DeviantArt but at the time of this posting, is only partly complete
  • Free Sunnyville, a free comic that gives a basic overview of Sunnyville to entice new readers and potential vendors; the inspiration for this comic was Free Cerebus by Dave Sim, a free comic done in 1992 to introduce new readers to the series.  That too is free to read online.

So enjoy these free comics for Free Comic Book Day!  And don’t forget to visit your local comic shop for even more!
