I’ve got a few announcements to make right now. First, I’d like to talk about a digital publication called Make Mine Indie.
Published by Alterna Comics, Make Mine Indie is a publication that lists the comics and graphic novels published by various small presses, information about them and where they can be purchased. Sunnyville Stories Volumes 1, 2 and 3 are listed in the most recent edition (fall 2016) as is Von Herling, Vampire Hunter. The fall 2016 issue of Make Mine Indie is now available and for free too so go download it. It’s available in both PDF and CBZ format, though at a whopping 3.24 MB so it may take some to download depending on your connection speed and equipment. It’s available too on Comixology.
As I announced before, I will be undertaking the 24 hour comics challenge. 24 Hour Comics Day is next weekend on Saturday, October 1.
For 24 hours, from 12:00pm Central time on Saturday, October 1 to 12:00pm Central time on Sunday, October 2, I will create a 24 page comic within that timeframe.
The story will be another Gothic horror adventure starring August Von Herling. I’ve decided to use an idea that I’ve been unsuccessfully trying to work out before that. This Von Herling story will be an adaptation of the horror novella The Family of the Vourdalak by Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy. As I said, I’ve been wanting to do a version of this with Von Herling, but my attempts to adapt the story failed with the resulting story treatments having to be thrown out. Perhaps trying a more improvised story may work better for me. Progress will be shared on Twitter and Facebook along with photos as proof of my work.
