Today is the first day of fall. It’s a time of change. Change is definitely in the air for me as I have an announcement to make.
I’ve been getting quite a bit of feedback on Sunnyville Stories Volume 1, my first trade paperback. After reading up on the feedback and researching the book industry, I’ve come to a decision. Sometime in the first quarter of 2013, I will put out a second printing that will have a couple of differences from the original printing. So what will be different for this second printing of Sunnyville Stories Volume 1?
First and foremost, this “beta version” will have a higher price tag. I will be raising the price from US$8.99 to US$14.99. Why am I doing this? The higher price is necessary for me to make a suitable profit as well as having retailers and wholesalers stock my book too while allowing me to make a profit at that. I’m also working upon the concept of “perceived value“. By raising the price to roughly the equivalent of similar comics out there, I want to make the customers out there feel like my work is very bit as valuable as the competition (and believe me, IT IS).
The other changes will be more cosmetic. Due to the higher price tag, the book will have a different barcode. The ISBN number however will remain unchanged. FYI, the ISBN number for the first Sunnyville Stories book is 978-0-615-65392-1.
Since the price will go up, you may want to go and buy a copy today before the price increase goes into effect. You can get a copy at Indy Planet, from Desert Island of Williamsburg, and the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe.
