Sunnyville and Comics for 2019

Hello, everyone!  The Christmas break for the blog has ended and now it’s back to business.

So what can all of you expect for 2019?  Comics planned for this year are Sunnyville Stories #18, Sunnyville Stories #19 and a print comic for my webcomic characters Tiffany & Corey.  I have not yet decided on the start date for laying out the pages to Sunnyville #18; the script needs some minor revisions and a review before we get started.  There’s also business items like taxes to deal with.

Tiffany & Corey’s comic book will be somewhat of a challenge; as that is more of a gag work as opposed to the more “artistic” Sunnyville, I will concentrate more on shorter vignettes involving humor.  Of course, the comic itself is meant more to promote the webcomic.   Continue reading →

Dominic & Claire Plans

As you readers know, a Sunnyville Stories spin-off is scheduled for release in February 2019.  This will be titled the Dominic & Claire Funnies.

My plans for the comic have changed.  Instead of the planned standard comic book size, the comic will be a digest size of 5.5 by 8.5 inches.  It will still be in color but only 12 pages instead of the original planned 16 pages.   Continue reading →

Dominic and Claire Work Part 4

Well, readers, I have a few announcements to make in this brief post.  First, to those of you who backed the Sunnyville Super Special #2 Kickstarter – the first rewards have FINALLY gone out!  I have sent out a round of PDF copies of my comic book to you backers.  By the weekend, the physical copies of the comic will have arrived and those can start going out.

Speaking of the weekend, this Saturday December 8, 2018, I will be vending my comics at the Toys Collectibles & Curiosities Expo in Moorhead Center Mall of Moorhead, Minnesota.  Be there as it is free to the public and cool merchandise will be up for sale!  Plus there are some great places to eat in the mall like Everest Tikka House and Jay’s Barbecue (which has AMAZING mashed potatoes).   Continue reading →

Dominic and Claire Work Part 3

Work is continuing on Dominic & Claire, the Sunnyville Stories spin-off.  But as I’ve said before, there is a lot more to comics than just drawing them.

Sunnyville Stories is an art comic first and foremost.  It’s personal expression – I have explained before I considered it an auteur comic.  In contrast, Dominic & Claire is comedy, being a gag-based comic.  Humor has a more broad appeal than niche material than Sunnyville.  Therefore, I intend to get Dominic & Claire out on schedule in February 2019.  It is imperative I get it out to sell at both FM Comicon and another possible event in March.   Continue reading →
