Thomas Edison and My Comics

Posted on November 28, 2016 by Max West

When it comes to doing Sunnyville Stories, any sort of Kickstarter or crowdfunding effort or comics in general, this quote sums up my attitude.

“When I have fully decided that a result is worth getting I go ahead of it and make trial after trial until it comes.”  – Thomas Edison

Why You Need to Follow Reenave

Posted on November 27, 2016 by Max West

I’m here today, friends, to speak on someone else’s behalf.

There’s an individual I’ve followed for a number of years on Twitter and DeviantArt by the name of Reenave.  Reenave draws in a completely different manner than I do, being influenced more by Japan (as you recall, I’m more influenced by American newspaper comic strips).

Reenave is the creator of the manga Angel Guardian, a brilliant creation.  There’s also a Patreon so be sure to check it out and spread the word!

Fear Should Not Hold You Back

Posted on November 19, 2016 by Max West

I have an interesting topic today for the blog.  When I first set out on this journey, to create and market Sunnyville Stories, I knew there were no guarantees.  I could end up losing everything and languishing in obscurity.  I could earn the wrath of arrogant know-it-all critics slamming Sunnyville as being “lousy”.  As far as I knew, I may have very well failed.  Did I let that stop me?

No.   Continue reading →
